Maria T. Marcucilli is a private investigator licensed by the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (CAPI #26075). In 2006, in pursuing her passion for investigative work, Maria opened MTM Investigations. MTM Investigations focuses solely on federal and state criminal defense investigations. Maria is known for her tireless and persistent dedication in conducting thorough investigations.
Maria began her legal career at the Los Angeles Superior Court where as a Deputy Court Clerk she assisted judges in the courtroom, prosecutors, defense attorneys and the general public while taking night classes in Criminal Justice. Maria worked for the Los Angeles Superior Court for 5 years before transferring to Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001.
Maria graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2003. She was then awarded a graduate assistantship award to continue her education at Northeastern, and obtained her Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. Maria was accepted into Northeasternís Criminology and Public Policy Ph.D program and completed one year of Ph.D level course work.
While at Northeastern University, Maria was a research and teaching assistant to the Brooks Chair Professor, Dr. Peter K. Manning. She assisted Dr. Manning by conducting research on the general subject of policing, and Dr. Manning's publication, "The Narc's Game" (Second Edition, 2004).
Maria took several undergraduate and graduate investigation courses taught by ex-FBI agent Harvey Burstein.
In 2004, Maria was a research assistant for the Massachusetts Sentencing Commission in Boston where she coordinated a project regarding the current status of Drug Courts in Massachusetts and performed research regarding the Federal Sentencing Guidelines in the immediate aftermath of the Booker/Fanfan Supreme Court decisions.
